Quiz Night

On Saturday 27th February we held our first of hopefully many, quiz nights. Sadly we lost one of our members wives a few days ago to Alzheimer’s.  As a choir we have chosen to raise money for Alzheimer’s as it is so close to our hearts. We are all affected by someone who is or has suffered from this cruel illness.

Just by hosting a quiz night for our members and their family we raised almost £100 through raffle tickets & entry fee.

It also gave us the opportunity to meet with some of our newer members and their families. We all had a great time.

I’m sure you all want to know who won!!! Well the winning team was ‘the Musicians’ aka Musical Director Russell Paterson, Accompanist Helen Everett and their other halves. Needless to say we’ll never hear the last of it!!!

The wooden spoon was given to ‘the Bates Mob’ however they did well considering their team consisted of 2 adults and 1 not so able bodied teenager (as he had a broken ankle) and 3 little children!! At least the children were happy with their wooden spoons!!!

Thanks to those who donated raffle prizes.

Thanks to Ian Scholes for organising the food.

Finally special thanks to Quiz Master Phil Turner and his assistants Lucy & Rebecca Read.
